Progress


Just a quick update on progress. 

I changed from ABS to front view turn based. This was partially due to a script conflict issue and partially for ease of development on my part. I also think the front view looks uniquely retro and hope to add animated battlers down the line.

I've added some weather effects to make maps more immersive. In the previous demo, there was also interactive environments like jumping and vine climbing, which will stay in this version. :)

I hurt my hand which has slowed progress somewhat for the last day or so. However, I have been inputting the data and realized there will likely be over 100 various maps, so this is going to be quite the undertaking. My hype and passion hasn't faded, though and I'm looking forward to seeing the complete game myself!

To match the previous demo, I think it will take about 2 more months, so I will rerelease the demo around September (this allows time for bug fixes, playtesting). Much of the script is pulled from the previous demo. A lot of the work now is just mapping, enemy sprites, and techs/auras.
